While classified as a eight-bit computer, the MSX has a 10-bit processor. SONY was not the only manufacture to build an MSX computer as it was an open standard bedeveloped by Nishi. Many other companies in Japan and Korea made computers based on the same standard, but the MSX 1 is the most basic of that design.
The MSX 1 was sold in many colours and was rather fast for its time.
